Office workers who have just 1 hour for lunch would be on the look-out for express meals like value sets as they include drinks. Not many have the luxury of having a leisurely lunch as one just wants to stave off the hunger pangs and run off to complete errands before heading back to work.
I’m not a fan of any of the outlets in Pavilion’s Food Republic and was looking for an alternative. That’s when I came upon Bear Paw tucked away in an alcove near Espresso Lab. It’s a cozy little cafe and was packed when I arrived at the same time as additional chairs and tables, talk about perfect timing otherwise I would have had to wait for an empty table which wouldn’t have been a long wait nevertheless as most of the diners were office staff in a hurry.
What drew me into Bear Paw was the lunch promo set which is RM11.90 (no tax) and this includes a Bear Paw Burger + Wedges/Hashbrown/Fries + Fresh Tea Series. You are asked to build up your own burger, you can pick the type of bun, filling and sauce with these choices:-
Choice of Bun – Milk/Brown Sugar/Whole Wheat/Pumpkin
Choice of Patty – Chicken/Spicy Chicken/Fish/Ham (chicken)/Squid
Choice of Sauces – Chilli/Thousand Island/Thai/Honey Mustard/Tartar/Teriyaki
Fresh Tea Series – Assam Black Tea/Jasmine Green Tea/Four Seasons Spring Tea/Brown Rice Tea (if you prefer not to have sugar in your tea, it’s best to let them know when you order otherwise they do add a bit of sugar in your tea)
I had the Brown Sugar Bun with Fish and Tartar Sauce after I’d asked if the bun would be sweet (it isn’t). It takes between 5 to 10 minutes for the meal to be prepared and you collect it from the counter.
It’s a reasonably good sized bun, filling enough for lunch. Every bun has a bear paw print on top. The fries were done very well, nice and crisp.
The drink cup is quite big too.
This is one of the more satisfying meals I have had in Pavilion as the bread crumbed fish was delicious. This was a seriously memorable meal for all the right reasons. Bear Paw Pavilion is located at Lot 1.13.00, they have 9 other outlets in KL, Selangor and JB. For more info, check out www.bearpawburger.com.my
Certainly affordable price for a good meal. Too cute to eat the paw though.
wah so cute!
